Who's Who at St John's -
Rev Steve Haskett, Vicar.
Steve was born and brought up in Blackpool, a 'proper sandgrown'un'. He spent nine years serving as a Police Officer in the town before answering God's call to ministry. A 'cradle Anglican', Steve made a clear commitment to follow Jesus in his 20's. He trained for ministry at Cranmer Hall, part of Durham University. After Ordination, he served at Anchorsholme All Saints before becoming Vicar of St John's in February 2017.
Steve is married to Lisa, a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. They have a son called Owen, who is at University.
Dr Bill Ward, Licensed Reader.
Bill is a Licensed Reader in the Church of England. This means Bill has undergone theological study and holds a Bishop's License to preach and assist in the ministry at St John's.
Bill is from a local farming family and after studying medicine at Sheffield University, he spent over 35 years practising medicine, most recently as a GP in Blackpool. Bill is married to Gill, who is one of the lead members of our children & young families ministry team.
Bill & Gill have 3 grown up children and a growing collection of grandkids!
Dave Bannister & Howard Deane, Church Wardens.
Dave & Howard are, along with the Vicar, responsible for leading St John's. Wardens have a particular responsibility for taking care of all the practicalities of the day-day and week-week running of the church.
Howard (on the left of the picture) is semi-retired, having spent many years on the management team of King George's Hall in Blackburn. He now uses many of those skills in his role as Church Warden. Howard is also on the preaching team. He is married to Eleanor, with 2 grown up sons.
Dave (on the right of the picture) is a carer and is a familiar face locally, being involved in many projects helping to improve the quality of life for residents of Blackpool. Dave helps the church to interface with the community, through those initiatives, but also through leading our outreach ministry in St John's Square. Dave is married to Grace, and they have 2 young children.

Lauren is responsible for leading and developing our children's work and our Chill Zone group. She will also be working to develop other exciting ways that children and their families can connect with Jesus and His church here at St John's. Lauren is married to Damian, a local Vicar, and they have 2 children together.
